Step 1 — Set up the laser
Mount the GL1425C on the FGC20 Elevator Tripod. Dial in your grade on both axes. The laser self-levels and begins rotating, projecting a 360° grade plane across the entire jobsite.

Step 2 — Mount the LR60-MM
Attach the LR60-MM machine receiver to the dipper arm using the MM-1 magnetic mount, with the LED display facing the operator. The 360° reception window catches the laser beam from any direction as the boom swings.

Step 3 — Dig to grade
Operate the excavator normally. The LR60-MM continuously reads the laser plane as the boom moves, and ACE keeps the reading correct when the arm is out of plumb.

Step 4 — Read grade on the receiver
Bright LEDs on the LR60-MM show high, on-grade or low right on the arm. In excavating mode the display gives you more information above grade to help avoid undercuts.

The LR60-MM brings Spectra Precision’s best excavator receiver technology to the dipper arm, without the wireless display. Its defining feature is ACE — Angle Compensation for Excavation — a patented technology that delivers accurate grade readings even when the excavator dipper arm is out of plumb. Add 360° laser reception, the tallest detection window in the LR series and about twice the battery life of the wireless LR60W, and you get top excavator performance for less.
► What is ACE — Angle Compensation for Excavation?
The problem without ACE: When you swing the dipper arm out of plumb, the laser beam strikes the receiver at a different height — so the displayed elevation is wrong. You have to re-plumb the arm to get a reliable reading. That slows you down.
How ACE fixes it: The LR60-MM uses an internal angle sensor to measure the dipper-arm angle and calculate the actual bucket depth. The readout stays correct across arm angles of ±10° to ±30° — so you can dig to grade and check elevation without stopping to plumb the arm first.

Both receivers have ACE, the same 222 mm (8.75 in.) detection window and the same display channels. The difference is where you read grade — on the receiver at the arm, or on a wireless display inside the cab — and how long the batteries last.

Straight answer: if your operator can see the receiver on the dipper arm, the LR60-MM does the same ACE work for less and runs about twice as long on a charge. If the receiver is hard to see from the seat, or you want tilt and receiver settings in the cab, step up to the ProMAXX-2. The crank-up elevator center column adjusts from 40" to a fully extended 90" — giving you an additional 50" of vertical reach without touching the legs. Is this kit right for my dozer or motor grader?
The LR60-MM works on dozers and graders in center on-grade mode, so it’s functional. But ACE is specifically for excavator arm angle, not blade tilt, and the LR60-MM has no tilt display. If you primarily run a dozer or grader and don’t dig trenches, the MAXX-22 with LR50 does that job at a lower cost.
What is the working range of this kit?
The GL1425C laser has a working diameter of up to 2,600 ft. The LR60-MM receiver can detect laser signals from over 1,500 ft away (receiver capability, laser-dependent) — so the receiver will never be the limiting factor on your job site. On most excavation jobs, setup distance is well within both ranges.
How accurate is the LR60-MM in ACE mode?
In ACE mode, two deadband settings are available: Fine at 12 mm (0.50 in.) and Standard at 25 mm (1.0 in.). For most excavation work, Standard is the practical choice. For finish grading or precise trench work, Fine gives you tighter control. Always take a sample reading with the bucket on-grade and verify the elevation before you start working.
What’s the difference between the LR60-MM and the LR60W-MM?
They share the same core receiver specs: ACE angle compensation, the 222 mm (8.75 in.) detection window, and 7 grading / 8 excavating display channels. The LR60W-MM adds a radio and the RD20 wireless in-cab display, which shows grade and tilt inside the cab and lets the operator change receiver settings from the seat. Does this work with my current red-beam rotating laser?
Yes. The LR60-MM works with virtually all red-beam and infrared (invisible-beam) rotating lasers from any manufacturer; it does not read green-beam lasers. For the most responsive, accurate readings, run your laser at 600 to 1,200 RPM — the faster it spins, the quicker the receiver updates. The GL1425C in this kit is fully compatible.
