What it is
Leica 799185: GKL311 battery charger
The GKL311 charges one Leica battery at a time, including the GEB221 Li-Ion battery that runs the Piper. Plug it into the wall with the GEV192-1 power supply, or into a 12/24 V vehicle socket with the vehicle cable, both in the box.
A four-bar gauge shows the charge in steps of 0-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 91-100%. Leica gives 4 to 8 hours for a charge.

What is the Leica GKL311?

Will it charge my Piper battery?
Yes. The Piper runs on the Leica GEB221 Li-Ion battery, and the GKL311 charges it.
Which batteries does it charge?
Per the Leica GKL311 quick guide: GEB211, GEB212, GEB213, GEB221, GEB222, GEB223, GEB241, GEB242, GEB243, GEB331, GEB333, GEB334, GEB361, GEB363, GEB364 and GEB461.
Can I charge in the truck?
Yes. The vehicle cable in the box runs it from a 12 or 24 V socket.
How long does a charge take?
4 to 8 hours, per Leica. The Piper data sheet gives about 4 hours for the Piper battery.
Why won’t it charge in a cold truck?
The GKL311 charges only between 0 and 50 °C (32 to 122 °F). Below freezing it shows a temperature error and waits; bring the battery and charger into the cab or the shop. It also warns of low input voltage.
