iDig Lite Machine Control
iDig TOUCH 2D LITE
Depth and slope read straight off the cutting edge, on a screen in the cab, to ± 1 cm — the same accuracy as the flagship TOUCH 2D. The software is already installed, so there is no licence to buy on top.
$6,900, and we are taking orders. Contractors-Tools.com is an authorized iDig dealer — call 1-877-866-5721 and we will spec it against your excavator before you order.
The Least Expensive Way Into Real Machine Control
The touchscreen in the cab reads depth and distance to target as you dig. Nobody stands in the hole with a grade rod.
Horizontal, single slope and dual slope all included. Set the target from the seat and the LED bargraph holds you on it.
The same accuracy iDig publishes for the full TOUCH 2D, because it is the same hardware.
Work to a rotary laser plane or shoot a benchmark and hold it. No base station, no subscription, no satellites.
Tilt buckets and cab rotation are handled, on mono and knuckle booms alike.
Magnetic plates and no cabling, so it comes off one excavator and onto the next in about five minutes.

Three Ways In
Same company, same idea, three levels of capability. The difference is what the software lets the machine do, and whether the system can grow.
iDig TOUCH 2D LITE
Grade, single and dual slope, tilt bucket, cab rotation, laser referencing and multi-machine use, at ± 1 cm. The least expensive 2D system we know of with wireless sensors, an in-cab LED bargraph and a touchscreen.
2D only. Not upgradable, and not for skid steers.
iDig TOUCH 2D
The same hardware with the full software set — blade guidance, clamshell and auger, rotary attachment, distance measurement and the height alarm. Worth the step up if one of those is how you earn.
2D only. Not upgradable, and not for skid steers.
iDig CONNECT
Multi-axis, 100 readings a second, able to take its height reference from GNSS, able to run a skid steer, and able to grow into 2D PROJECT and full 3D on the very same hardware.
2D, 2D+ and full 3D. Excavator and skid steer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is iDig TOUCH 2D LITE?
TOUCH 2D LITE is a wireless 2D machine control system for excavators, with the operating software already installed. The control box and LED bargraph sit in the cab, solar-rechargeable sensors clip to magnetic plates on the boom, stick and bucket, and the screen reads depth and slope straight off the cutting edge to plus or minus 1 cm.
How is LITE different from the full iDig TOUCH 2D?
The box is the same. The difference is in the software. LITE covers grade control on horizontal, single and dual sloped areas, tilt bucket, cab rotation, mono and knuckle boom, multi-machine use, laser referencing and tape measure mode. The full TOUCH 2D adds rotary attachment, blade guidance, clamshell and auger, advanced 2D mode, distance measurement, a height alarm, the UR option for a double offset boom, and underwater mode. If none of those is how you earn, LITE does the same work for about $4,000 less.
What does it cost?
$6,900. That is the entry point of the whole iDig range and around $4,000 below the full TOUCH 2D build. We are taking orders on it now.
Can it be upgraded to 2D+ or 3D later?
No. LITE and TOUCH are 2D only and do not step up. If you may want a GNSS height reference for 2D+, or full 3D on the same hardware later, that is iDig CONNECT, and it is worth settling before you buy rather than after.
Will it run a skid steer or track loader?
No. LITE is for excavators. A loader has no boom or stick to carry a laser receiver and takes its height reference from satellites instead, which needs GNSS. That is iDig CONNECT with the skid steer licence.
Do I need a rotary laser?
You need a height reference, and a rotary laser is the usual one. You can also shoot a benchmark and hold it. There is no base station, no correction subscription and no satellite dependency.
How long does it take to install?
One to two hours, in your own yard, by your own people. Nothing is welded on and no cable runs down the boom, so there is no shop visit and no machine downtime.
