Rugby 620 Rechargeable Package with Rod Eye 140
A self-levelling horizontal rotating laser with manual slope, supplied with the Rod Eye 140 Classic receiver, the A600 lithium-ion battery pack and the A100 charger. 3,600 ft working diameter, IP67, and 40 hours of run time on a charge.
Built For Formwork, Footings And Concrete.
The Leica Rugby 620 is a one-button, self-levelling horizontal laser for interior and exterior levelling, aligning and squaring — concrete forming, pad placement and framework levelling. It self-levels within ± 5°, turns at 10 rps and carries an H.I. elevation alert so a bumped tripod cannot quietly cost you a day of grade.
This is the 6005984 configuration: the laser, its carrying case and the Rod Eye 140 Classic receiver, supplied with the A600 lithium-ion pack and the A100 charger rather than the alkaline battery holder.
Four parts, one case, and nothing left to order before it goes to work.
What's In The Box.
Four components, every one of them a Leica part number you can reorder individually.

The Pack And The Charger Are In The Box.
This is the single thing that separates 6005984 from the alkaline configuration. The laser, the case and the receiver are the same parts in both.
The Rugby 600 series lithium-ion battery pack. 40 hours of run time at 20°C on a charge. Fits inside the laser's IP67 envelope — the Rugby 620 holds its protection rating with and without the battery fitted.
The matching lithium-ion charger for the A600 pack. Supplied with this package, so the kit arrives complete — there is no separate charger to order before the laser can go to work.
Key Features.
One button. The laser finds level inside a ± 5° window and holds it.
Dial the head off level by hand when the work calls for a fall rather than a flat plane. This is what the 620 adds over the Rugby 610, which runs level only.
The safest laser classification there is. No laser safety officer to appoint — which matters on occupied sites, schools, hospitals and airports.
If the instrument is disturbed, the laser tells you instead of handing you a wrong elevation all afternoon.
Splash, water and dust protected — rated with and without the battery in place.
A bright, steady plane for the Rod Eye 140 to read at distance.
Rated from −4°F to +122°F, so winter pours are not a reason to leave it in the truck.
How Far It Actually Shoots.
With the Rod Eye 140 Classic receiver supplied in this kit, the Rugby 620 works to a 1,100 m (3,600 ft) diameter. That is the working figure for this pairing — the number that matters is the one the laser and receiver produce together, not a receiver's headline sensitivity on its own.
Leica publishes the Rod Eye 140's own working diameter as 1,350 m and labels it laser dependent — which is the honest way to put it. A receiver cannot reach further than the laser throwing the plane. Paired with the Rugby 620 in this kit, the figure that governs your day is 1,100 m (3,600 ft).
The Receiver Decides What The Day Feels Like.
The laser sets the plane once and then does nothing all day. The receiver is the part you actually hold, move and read, two hundred times before lunch — so the time a kit costs you is decided here, not in the tripod head.
The Rod Eye 140 is the reason this package carries the Rugby 620's full 3,600 ft. Specify the same laser with a 70 mm-window receiver instead and the working diameter drops to 2,600 ft — the laser has not changed, only what is reading it.
- A 120 mm catch window. Twelve centimetres of sensor means you find the beam on the first pass up the rod rather than hunting for it — the difference that shows up over a long day of grade checks, not in a spec comparison.
- Three detection accuracies. Fine ± 1 mm, Medium ± 2 mm, Coarse ± 3 mm. Open it up to catch grade fast on rough ground, tighten it for the finish pass.
- It ignores strobes. Anti-strobe rejection means the flash off a safety beacon, a work light or passing emergency equipment does not read as your laser. On a live site with traffic control running, this is the feature that stops false readings.
- Tuned to a red beam. Detects 600–800 nm, which is where the Rugby 620's 635 nm diode sits. The receiver and the laser in this box are matched by design, not by adapter.
- Readable from either side of the rod. Graphic displays front and back, with a nine-channel arrow read, so you are not walking around the rod to see where you are.
- Two AA cells, 50+ hours. The receiver runs on ordinary AA batteries while the laser runs off the rechargeable A600 — so a flat receiver is a two-minute fix from any gas station, never a reason to stop.
- IP67, −20°C to +50°C. The same protection rating as the laser it ships with, and a 10-minute automatic shutoff if it gets left switched on in the truck.
