The rotating laser is designed for formwork and concrete applications. It comes with a lithium-ion battery pack and Rod Eye 160 Digital receiver, offering an operating range of 3,600 feet (1,100 m). It features an IP67 protection class, making it splash, water and dustproof.

Three things the Rugby 620 does so you do not have to
It levels itself
Set it up within ±5° and press the power button. The Rugby 620 levels both axes, starts the head turning and is ready for the receiver.
It slopes by hand when you need a fall
Press the Auto/Manual button to take the X axis, the Y axis or both out of self-levelling, then set the slope with the Up and Down arrows.
It knows when the tripod moved
About 30 seconds after levelling the H.I. Alert switches on. If the tripod is knocked or settles, both axis LEDs flash red so the beam is never quietly working at the wrong height.

- •Low battery LEDOff when the pack is fine. Flashing slowly at 10% (about 4 hours) left, quickly at 5% (about 2 hours), red when it cannot power the laser.

What the spec sheet leaves out
Automatic Mode
The Rugby always starts in Automatic Mode and levels itself if it is set up within the 5° self-levelling range.
Manual Mode: X, Y or both
The Auto/Manual button steps through X axis manual, Y axis manual, both axes manual and back to Automatic. A red LED marks every axis that is in Manual Mode; the Up and Down arrows set the slope.
H.I. Elevation Alert
Becomes active 30 seconds after the laser has levelled and keeps watching the position of the beam. If the tripod is knocked or settles, both axis LEDs flash red.
Batteries
The A600 lithium-ion pack runs the laser up to 120 hours on a full charge, and charges in a maximum of five hours. The laser also takes four D-cells in an alkaline holder.
